Barcelona Airport (airport cide BCN) is Spain’s second busiest airport and manages a capacity of more than 50 million passengers.
Located just 10 km south-west of the Barcelona city centre and close to the Meditarranean coastline inside the town of El Prat de Llobregat, the airport has three main terminals which are near to one another and connected by
a walkway.
The airport holds a huge public parking area with space for more than 12,000 cars and terminals A and C are directly connected to the parking lot via air-bridges and one can also find separate secure car parking area for VIPs. One can also hire a car from one of the many car hire companies at the airport in Barcelona.
The airport also holds several special facilities for disabled passengers including elevators, ramps, disabled toilets and reserved parking areas..
The other facilities at the airport includes:
- Eating joints: Plenty of cafes, restaurants and delis in all the terminals of the airport.
- Shopping: Duty-free shops are located at all the terminals which include shops for jewellery, clothes and tobacco. There are several major brands which hold their stores within the airport mall.
- Money and communication: A bank, several ATMs and exchange bureaus can be found at all the terminals of the airport. There is also a post office situated at the ground floor of terminal B.
For Business Travellers, the airport also includes a very large meeting room in Terminal B; the room set up with facilities which include internet, fax, telephone and audio visual equipmen. There six VIP lounges inthe airport snd also several renowned hotels located near the airport.
Airlines:
You can find cheap flights to Spain with a number of airlines and there are too many airlines to mention which fly into Barcelona International airport. All of the major budget carriers including Easyjet and also most of the scheduled and national airlines fly into this large airport. Barcelona flights with Ryanair tend to fly into Girona and Reus airports which also serve Barcelona.
