Las Ramblas Area of Barcelona
La Rambla (also known as Las Ramblas) is, one of the most significant landmarks in Barcelona and is a Spanish boulevard that goes right through the heart of the city. The La Rambla area is a lively neighbourhood that features some of the best restaurants, shops and tourist attractions that the city has to offer. Roughly 1 mile in lentgh, Las Ramblas starts with Port Vell at its south end and Placa Catalunya at its north end.
Located in the centre of the city, La Rambla is easy to access and tourists will be able to use the region’s public transport to get to this area. Tourists will also find it easy to get around the region as the City Council of Barcelona
has restricted the flow of traffic through it, which also makes it easier for pedestrians to view the delightful sights along the boulevard while they shop.
Most of the people who visit Las Ramblas are vacationers from different parts of the world, who throng the boutiques and shopping complexes on this tree-lined street. The boulevard is also the home of museums and some interesting cafes. Tourists looking to take a break and enjoy a small snack between exploring museums, art galleries and the regions many shops can stop at one of the eateries on the street such as the Café de la Opera.
You will also find cultural events taking place here and social meeting points. Interesting hotspots include Mercat de la Boqueria, Liceu, Centre d’Art Santa Monica and Palau de la Virreina.
